Clip-Question

Hello,
I’ve a question about how to use the live clips.
I have created a set with different clips.
Now if I press the play-button on a clip it starts.
Now (in my song) I have to stop the whole thing and
my band (drums, …) goes on playing.
In the next part our beatboxer starts making beats.
Then I want to TAP a second beat (not the same as in the beginning)
during the beatbox-solo.
The question is how can I select a second beat during the whole set
is stopped without starting anything.
So the second beat must be selected during the whole set is stopped
and then I TAP the new tempo.
I hope you can help me.
