I run audio/midi through my microkorg into an alesis firewire io14.
The MIDI will run through fine, but the audio suffers from the clicks and pops.

I've only an integrated sound card which is why I went for using an audio/midi interface.

I've been searching into the issue and there seems to be a lot that can cause this - but I'm not sure what affects myself since I can record midi fine; what does this rule out?

could be you need to tweak latency settings ?
pc or mac ? if pc try asio4all, see if that sorts your problem out

BUT! When I'm using ASIO4ALL as my device I can't seem to be able to use my monitors as an output from the computer. Ableton only gives me channels from the alesis as output.
The realtek audio business is all enabled in asio, but I've not a clue.

I'd say it'd work if I put them as the output for the alesis, but that's a lot of trouble for every time I want to switch up.

EDIT - Yep, it's beyond logic. Fuck.

some people spend years to trying to get thoose "clicks and pops" and you just destroy them?
