Live 6 - noise, pops and crackles

I've got a big problem with Live 6 on my new PC
- mobo nForce650i SLI SPP, nVidia Video card, vista, dual core and 4Gbs ram
If I run my Line 6 tone port the guitar spits and pops. Improves if you minimise the Live 6 app (6.0.10)
If I run Jamstix2 it crashes.
Both work fine in other DAWs...
Is it the nVidia video driver clashing?....is Live 6 vista ready??

I've installed Vista SP1 RC1 and things have improved a bit.
I can now record my guitar however the play back includes sections that haven't recorded correctly.
The only good news is that Jamstix2 doesn't crash with Live 6 now.

...the only way I can stop this is to disable the Nvidia driver.....
Live 7 demo is even worst....sounds like R2D2 when you drag the Live screen

....it works if you run the app in 256 colours (which looks rubbish)

If I run Live in 640x480 mode it solves the crackle problem but it's unuseable......
If I disable GeForce 8600 GT driver then I get a Direct Draw Error...
I think that the Live 6 app doesn't re-draw properly.
When you drag the app window it flickers like mad and screws up the sound. Ableton can you fix this???

Live (7) seems to use some unvoncentional drawing routines that lead to tremendous CPU load under Vista's Basic/Classic GUI. Switching to Aero (3d glass GUI) solves that issues more or less, but your graphic-card will be loaded more than by any other non-gaming application.
I hope that Ableton can solve this anytime soon. Live specs claim it to be Vista compatible, but at the moment that is not true.

yeah, my performance increased trmendously when I switched Aero back on, thanks to Timur's tests.
