hi,
finally getting macbook pro, but before buying it, i wonder if having these would make lots of difference for L7. l do use lots of plug-ins and heavy vsti's.

-2.6GHz? ( then 2.4GHz Intel Core Duo)
-250GB serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm or 200GB ATA Drive @7200 rpm
-4GB sdram....way too pricey i think.

or should i just go for the basic mode. . .
wanna hear your opinion on this+thanks!

if you can afford the better processor, why not? i'd have to say go with the 7200 drive, but this will most likely make a little more noise, and use more battery power. get the standard ram, which is 2g, i believe, if you need more later, buy it from a 3rd party supplier, such as crucial...much cheaper, and you may not need more than 2g right now... unless those vsti's use large sample libraries, of course.

and the processor? 2.6GHz, does it make difference? i dont think i am going to do any movie editing or heavy graphix. i am trying to make this macbook just music station. good idea on the ram, thanx-

2.6 is a bit faster, but 2.4 ain't shabby, either. i have the 2.16 and am happy with it... so it's really a matter of what you want to spend...

Biggest bang for your buck if it's only 1 of those you can afford get the RAM separately
from crucial or someone, you'll save a ton of cash then I'd get the 7200 disk (after much discussion on this forum recently).

I've 4 Gb of RAM and it's solid, I load up my samplers big style (16 instances of orchestral articulations for a start)

cool, so the conclusion here would be 7200disk + ram, i'll probably get the ram later separately. cheers-
