I'm trying to do a side chain compression by sending my MIDI with Kick into other MIDI with Bass. The problem is, my MIDI Kick can only be routed to AUDIO tracks and MASTER, other MIDI channels are not even an option. Please help me identify the problem.
thank you

Well after your kick is applied to your midi data, audio is coming out. And midi tracks don't take audio as input!
Add the compressor to an audio/midi track(the track which should receive compression. Here its the bass for example), click the arrow pointing right in the top, enable sidechain, in audiofrom select the kick track. Then perhaps try some gain on it and play with the compressor threshold for a start

Thank you. But i'm still not getting it right. I'm not playing with any AUDIO tracks at the moment, all in MIDI.
Shouldn't I be able to choose MIDI Channel for my Bass in the drop down menu of my MIDI (KICK) channel? You should be able to send MIDI into MIDI correct?
Also, what do you mean by "click the arrow pointing right in the top". What arrow??
Thanks in advance bro...

sidechaining has nothing to do with midi, rather the audio that midi track generates. in order to access this audio, you must route it out of the midi track, into an audio track, and process it there. just curious, why are you so worried about sidechaining, when you don't appear to have the basics of midi vs. audio? could be wrong...bro.

No bro, i understand the difference

Its just this thing wouldn't let me route it from one channel to another. I figured it out though...

I guess i have been in front of this computer for too long...

Not thinking straight.
Thanks for the help
Peace out
