Did Trent Reznor pee in your cereal or something? What's your point? Multi-millionaires don't have the right to be disappointed on record sales or multi-millionaires shouldn't try new distribution methods and voice their opinion if the album didn't sell as well as it could have?

Williams said it best, Reznor is the king of emo.
$140,000 profit initially is nothing to sneeze at.

To compare the sale of a NIN collaboration (I've not heard it) with that of a Radiohead album can only lead to a comparison of the fanbase, types of personality have to factor into the differnce in sales figures. Are Radiohead fans likely to be more conciencious than NIN fans? still, $140,000 isnt a bad income on something like that..fuck, id love to just make $140 from a record.

and its only in 2 months..70k a month. i could handle that.

The worst is that Reznor wants to take money directly from every internet users pocket by taxing ISP's:

"I think if there was an ISP tax of some sort, we can say to the consumer, 'All music is now available and able to be downloaded and put in your car and put in your iPod and put up your a-- if you want and it's $5 on your cable bill.'"

Remember all tax = force - you pay the tax or the government will throw your ass in jail. Resist jail and eventually you'll end up dead.

Reznor is all ready to use the force of government to get his way.

Trent sounds whiny, Saul sounds excited. Interesting how the same events for the same team can come across so differently.

Its weird that Reznor talks like it's Williams' music, he's so disappointed for Saul's album, etc. It seems clear to me that NIN is a much bigger name than Saul Williams.

@dinsync: Yeah, the idea of a tax to FORCE people to pay for music strikes me as really wierd and like it should be the antithesis of what Reznor stands for. I mean, who's going to distribute that tax to the artists? F*ing right, the gov't and the record companies after a fat cut- and who decides what cut an artist gets? Who decides who's even an artist? Seems like a dumb idea.

I wonder if more than 20% of people who get an album on any format pay for it anymore?

How about reading what Mr. Reznor has to say about all of this directly from his own website?

It does look as if TR got a bit of a bad press experience there, just goes to show how easy it is to spread misinformation.
