New motu ultralite v old digi 002 rack.

Which would you rather have? I have a choice!

ultralite...this is, imho, a no brainer. i've had both, and toured with both, and neither ever gave me any problems.
the ultralite will give you far better latency, and a much more portable solution.
plus being buss powered.

+1 for the Ultralite

I love mine, and am not a huge fan of Digidesign (and I'll leave it at that), so it'd be a no brainer for me.

It depends on how many problems you want to buy into. Digidesign is headache territory, their drivers are always problematic. The Ultralite on the other hand has given me ZILCH problems since i bought it when it first came out. The preamps are great and it's bus powered... I could go on...

after i bought into digi (i had 001, then 002r)

all i could think was why didn't i freaking buy motu.

i'd advise you not to think that way yourself!

yup, i've got to agree with the Ultralite. i drag mine around for performances and use it pretty constantly at home and it's never been weird for me.

the digi002's pres sound worse to me and i don't really like pro-tools.

+ for the ultralite. no problems with mine whatsoever, and very low latency.

unless you want protools go for ultralite.

keep in mind this forum has never been protools territory....

i am a happy motu user myself. I would consider the soon upcoming motu 828 mk3 also. it will feature dsp effects, witch should be very handy for live peformances...
