I bought one of these last week.

Very easy installation, no problems with Ableton. Sounds fine and construction seems good (the case actually feels quite solid).

So far it gets the thumbs up

Yes keep us posted. Novation does seem to really want to target the DJ market with this and the nocturn..

arrived today. got a gig tonight, so i will have to wait for tomorrow to play with it. I will say that after opening the box, it has a nice study feel to it. the knobs feel smooth and are rubber coated. more to come of the effects & quality of sound.

well, I've had a few days now to play with the NIO after having the flu.
as I said before it is a sturdy build. It was very easy to install.
the effects that come withe the device are great. good quality equipment with great sound, as to be expected from novation. very happy with purchase. the VST formats of the effects software is going to be a great addition. If you play guitar or sing it will serve you well to replace stomp boxes or other types of distortion.

How's the latency on it? Are people mostly using this as a DJ type solution or also using it as a serious production interface?

i am using it for both and not having any issues. i was working on a remix last night running about 16 channels, mustiple effects, reason rewired to my microkontrol, bass-station to padkontrol and remote zero. with a master track i was remixing and multiple effects on the master.

most places i've seen it from in the US you have a 30 day no questions asked return policy, mine was for 45, but 30 days to try out is usually enough for me.

I read this thread a few days back and got worried as I already had a nio on the way but hadn't realized it was USB 1.0 (I need to read my specs more carefully before buying things, I just assumed that since it was a new product that it was 2.0). The latency issue worried me as I had planned on using it primarily for live horn looping in Ableton. Well, I just got it and I have to say that miraculously it is the lowest latency I've ever heard, as close to none as I can imagine. I don't know how they did it, but it is really impressive. I have been very pleased with this interface in the 45 minutes that I have had it, sounds great too!
