mapping drum rack to 2 separate controllers?

I have a question I was hoping someone could help me with.
Here's the issue.
I have a DRUM RACK loaded in Ableton
I want to access it with drum pads AND a midi keyboard in the following way:
1. drum pads - mapped to full kit from DRUM RACK (easy enough)
2. midi keyboard - I ONLY want the snare from the same DRUM RACK (the rest of the keys on the midi keyboard are mapped to SAMPLER for lead synth sounds)
the problem I am having is that when I use the midi keyboard for the snare...I start hearing all of the other sounds from the drum rack when I try to play the other keys that are mapped to SAMPLER
Is there a way I can get my midi keyboard to play just the snare from the DRUM RACK or would I have to make a completely new drum rack with only a snare and map it to my midi keyboard?
