two computers into firepod??

or is i hopeless??
looking to moniter for a dj set with 2 computers
have one set up to do it want to connect the other and do the same
help?? anyone??

i do know that you can daisy chain the firepod. it has two firewires i/o. i have daisy chained the firepod between a laptop and an external hard drive with no problems.
unrelated issue: my firepod broke, i wouldn't reccommend them. at least i think its unrelated.

Try it out, plug it in, and let us know if it works, I've had one now for a few years and have daisy chained it to other drives and recorded to them through that port. I will get hot over time so make sure it can breath. What kind of machines are you plugging in to it?

yes, it does get hot. in fact, i blew up the power supply on my firepod. twice.
yes i know i could have prevented it. and yes i shouldn't not-recommend things to people just because of my willingness to destroy my own property.

No dear god for the love or god no don't plug two computers into your audio interface.
The extra port is for daisy chaining, not for plugging another computer into.
Best case: It won't work.
Worst case: You'll break something expensive.
Don't copy that floppy!

Jeebus no, don't connect it to two computers at once. I agree with previous posters; something's going to get broken. Those firewire ports carry some nasty high voltages, and have a low tolerance for flim-flammery.
Your best option is to connect two separate audio interfaces together with some patch cables or sync the computers over your LAN (using reastream! see my old post! for the love of god, someone please read it!)
