I can't believe it. It would seem that Beta version 6 has stopped the crackling etc with automation !! This is brilliant news !!! I'm trying to finish tracks to send to pressing plant and Ableton is behaving :) I will keep testing but this is looking good.. anyone else having a similar experience with previously 'dodgy' tracks ?? 8)

I'm at work so can't test this - everything still ok for you??

I really hope this is the fix because this has been a complete pain and the worst problem I've had with Live and I've been a user since Live 5

*fingers crossed*

well - things have improved slightly

I have full control with the remote sl back again on template 40 but I'm still getting random drop-outs and glitches with no apparent cause ie I'm not changing any parameter with the remote or with the mouse.

yeah spoke a bit too soon.
Definite improvement over previous releases for me though.
I notice that the increments in a pitch bend seem to be dramatically reduced (for example) but i'm still getting odd glitches etc. harder to reproduce consistently though

i am using the Remote Zero.. and after I put beta 6 on it works just like it did with version 6....

i am very very happy... I did change that Direct Music optoin to the other option in the drop down box..

Other than that.. it works just fine for me.. hope you guys are finding the same thing..

I am on xp....

I'm still getting random gaps (pop/glitchs) as well using my axiom 49 or padkontrol. I think this is all related with the midi processing. IMO.

Me too... The pops and glitches are less with the MME setting but not completely gone.... ... Still unusable... The dropouts are getting worse with RemoteZeroSL and Axiom 25 as Control Surfaces at the same time... Everything works fine with 6.0.10.

Well fuck me sideways.. how wrong can you be ?
i'm trying to mixdown a track and the fucking software is glitching like such a bastard I can't finish the fucking tune.
THIS IS DOING MY FUCKING HEAD IN. All I want to do is make music.
I've even unplugged the Remote SL. Song plays and the CPU suddenly peaks into 70% drops out glitches and generally sounds like I just dropped my laptop in a blender.
This is with four audio tracks, a couple of instances of liquid mix and single instance of sudio damage reverence.
I can't stand much more of this bullshit..
I NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH SIX. I CAN'T GO BACK BECAUSE I'VE OPENED AND EDITED ALL MY RECENT TUNES IN 7.I'm fucked.

hey guy, try this - i have remote SL too and this fixed my glitch issues back in beta3

1) Locate the Live preferences directory of Live 7.0.2b3
The easiest way to do that is to start Live, select "Get Support ..."
from the help menu
and in the opening lesson, click on "Show the Preferences folder".
That should open the right directory in the file explorer

2) In that directory, place a file called Options.txt and add the
following line:
"-_ExcludeDirectMusicMidiPorts" (without the quotes)

3) Quit and restart Live.
Now, it should not longer possible to uise DirectMusic MIDI ports at all.
Please try how it behaves now.

this is assuming your glitches are MME/Direct MUSIC related (which refers to the MIDI port type - new option in LIVE 7)

Hey Cache,

Thanks for the advice. I'm on Beta 6, which I had initially thought was a major improvement :(
The additional script you mention is automatically implemented in Beta 6, so isn't necessary. Since my previous post, I have bounced down the track, and at least there are no problems on bounce down anyway (i.e. its a 'clean' recording)

Yeah, rendering or bouncing works just fine. It is the annoying lack of live use in "Live 7" that is the problem.
