I just went to the Toyota dealership and asked them if they could install a Ford engine in my Volkswagon. They didn't have an answer.

they should make a general multi track file format to keep time stamp intact. seems fucking stupid. or at least be able to export and import time stamps.

Digital Performer can open Digidesign's SDII sound designer files but I don't know of anything else that can.
SDII is also proprietary - broadcast .wav is closet to a standard of this type, but is also overlooked by many DAW programs.

I believe that if you save your PT project as an OMF file, you can then open/import it into Logic.

yes. sometimes. omf can be a flaky experience.
sdII are just audio files btw, like .wav or .aiff
This is from cakewalk but applies to other daws

You can always get SSL's Pro Convert. It'll convert any major DAW's project file not just Pro Tools files.
