For Monomes: Auto Beat Slicing and Follow action assign

Would love to be able to select a clip and have Live automatically duplicate it for 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 per bar divisions and automatically assign follow actions to run the group of clips as they originally played.
This would be entirely helpful for Monome and other beat-chopping users that use follow actions heavily.
Or a simple application of the Cue points request that I have been begging for for so long.

a great idea, but way too specialized.

By that logic, so are crossfader curves, legatto mode, and drumracks. But people use them.

Drum racks should work for this. First "Slice to new MIDI track" your sample, then duplicate the midi clip that was created, one for each division you want to use. Offset the start time for each one by the division amount and midi assign them to the buttons on your Monome (or pad Kontrol or MPC or keyboard).
You could pre-prepare a set of tracks for this and route the midi to the sliced track either, should give you a good bit more flexibility for trying samples out.

Cool. except:
You just described exactly what my solution avoids: too much prep for such a simple solution. I can get what I want by duping, offsetting and setting follow actions, but WHY? A script could take care of it, just like Selecting a REX file sets the clip to drum racks.

would it add the follow action info as well?

I would hope so, but it's less important to me than the starting marker assignments. I can set the follow actions to all of the clips at once. The duping and start points are the biggest pain in the ass.

The only way I buy gear is if I know it will hold its value (or I can get it REALLY cheap). In case I go broke I can get my investment back.
