sessions not opening!

this has to be a common problem, but being that the forum's search function is completely useless, I'm forced to make a new post....
i had a recording session last weekend and made 9 project files, 5 of which won't open now. when i try to open them, from within Live or directly from the file, they load for awhile but then Live completely shuts down. i've tried restarting but get the same result.
i'm guessing they're corrupt...any ideas why/how?
