I hope someone can help me here.

My problem is when Im recording automation on a particular track in the arrangement view. I then wish to copy it as a clip in the session view but it does not record what ive done.

Really the only way to do this is to record the track as audio into another. Automation drawn in the arrangement view is only recorded in the arrangement view. You can use clip automation in the session view but thats it. Hate to say it friend but you may want to RTFM.
