It'd be cool if while 'overdubbing' or in 'loop' mode if live would be smart enough to record each take from a live in or other input individually as seperate audio files... this would probably be best suited as an option...

perhaps this would be most useful in arrange mode?

are you saying it do this instead of how it currently "rolls up" your audio while recording in loop mode arranger view after each take, then you unstretch it, that Live somehow records each of these as a seperate clip (where would they "go")? Would be nice, but seems kind of hard. It's not to hard to slice up your "unrolled" loop recording, is it?

It isn't *that* hard... but it is kind of annoying to have to listen to a full 5 minutes worth of data to decide which takes were good, then be unable to delete the bad ones without entering an external editor... quite often only 10% is usable at most and you are left with a lot of crap

you could do what i do and when you have the piece you like
then just save it as a new file. simple

can't you just cut it up in the arrangerview and consilidate new clips out of the parts you like all in Live--works for me.
