Why has a thread that I posted in been deleted? But none of the other stoopid threads are being deleted...

your thread had gay porn pics in it, the other posts they deleted had porn pics too.

I see. ALL the pics get removed from the forum here at work - so I didn't know that I was posting in a pron thread.

Hey - does this mean we can self moderate??? If we see a thread that shouldn't be, just reply in it with a picture of a naked granny?

Ugh.

I didnt think such a fuss would be made. I feel so guilty now. Stupid alcohol.

Still, whats so offensiive about 2 scantily clad superheroes? I still think it was a funny picture.

Anyway, sorry guys for the small part I played in last nights chaos.

I meant the 997, 998, 999 pages threads - I had no idea there was any uproar wrt pictures until earlier today. I've been on the forum at work, so pictures got blocked and I replied in a BN455 thread that (apparently) had a rudey in it...

actually i think the hundreds of useless threads are more offensive than porn - they make the board fucking useless.

Hopefully some good will come of it. Moderators maybe?

We should all start paying better attention to the forum sub-sections in that case.

General
Tips And Tricks
Post Your Music
Bugs and Problems
Feature Wish list

If the Ableton people were to add a brief description of what is appropriate to which then that may help as well, something like:

General: Talk about what you want here, music related or not
Tips And Tricks: Talk about your ableton tips and tricks
Post Your Music: Post Music You've made with Ableton
Bugs and Problems: Talk about problems you are having with ableton
Feature Wish list: Request features

Perhaps it would help to have an "off topic" or lounge" section added so people could stop bitching about (OT) threads. I've never understood that, when a thread is clearly marked something like "(OT) Crisis in Madagascar" why people inevitably drop in to bitch and complain how this type of post has no place on a music forum.

As if many of us are not influenced and inspired directly by the world around us, and as if we do not have the right to discuss this stuff, as if every thread has to be a declaration of what would make racks better, or how midi editing could be better implemented, threads which actually belong in "feature requests" anyway if you want to be a stickler for what's OT and what isn't.

Till then "general" is general as far as I am concerned. The appropriate place for discussion that does not relate to Ableton live.

The pron bots are an entirely different creature, because it's kind of a retarded seeing 8 "ANAL ORGY" threads every 20 minutes that aren't even being posted by a human being. WTF is a damn ANAL ORGY anyway, and why is there always a picture of a penis coming through the ceiling in those posts?

Regardless.......

There's no need for moderation here, with the exception of the porn. Take care of that and maybe make it a little more clear what should go where in terms of posting, maybe make a specific "Talk about what you want here" forum, label general as "general talk about ableton" and we should be all set.

Rant was inspired by you nerveagent, but not directed at you.

I'd hardly call Condra's picture porn. No more on display than your average Calvin Klein ad. Or does the added camp factor make it more offensive.

well, not to labour the point. but it's hosted on a hardcore XXX adult website...
if it looks like porn, and it's on a porn website ... 1 + 1 = 2

Are we taking about the same picture here? 2 guys in hats, with some kind of thong type thing on. I don't remember seeing a todger anywhere.

Didn't realise it was hosted on an adult site, though. I guess it wouldn't do to have links to that kind of thing in here. Riddled with viruses, if nothing else (the sites, not the people in them).

I found the image via google image search and didnt think to check where it was hosted.

If you do various googles earches like "funny asians" or "funny japanese tv" etv, you will find that same image hosted on numerous sites. It is an internet classic.
