Did anyone go there? HOw was it?

I´d love to know, too, because I was working in Barcelona for a couple of days but had to go back the day it started.

Can´t always win ;o)

In October I´ll be there for the LEM Festival, anyway!

Yes I was at last year's LEM.... saw a good show there.

highlights for me were four tet funking up his stuff for the outdoor dancefloor after the rain and later massive attack i thought they would be good but they seriously blew my head off! heavy as......of course the superb sound system there helps...

a friend of mine played in big festival near Paris with PJ Harvey and Massive Attack. The latter spent almost two hours setting up the sound of the bass and kick !!! When this basis sounds right, I guess you get that BIG SOUND !

these years sonar highlights to me were
alva noto, pan:sonic and the shitkatapult showcase.
all the above mentioned acts played in the day program
of sonar.

... don't like the megaraves of the night program.

villalobos presented an new, highly mainstreamed
side of his "musical personality". (dont like)

nevertheless it was a great event.

Loved it all!

A guy called Mugison on Matt Herbert's Accidental label was particularly interesting.

He's make a funny noise into the microphone, loop it and mash it up, then make another noise into the mic and add it to the mixture. He's get a whole soundscape of really interesting rhythmical sounds going on and then drop some beats etc.

He'd also play riffs with his guitar and accasionally loop those up too.

I can only assume he was using Ableton.

Apart from that, highlights were: Four Tet, Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin (who was surprisingly good and un-electroclash-ey), Francois K...

The Mugison guy seems worth checking out then?! has he released anything?
