Hi everybody!

How do I get the times signature in Live to change so that it follows my time signature changes in DP? The click in Live works fine with the changes but the transport messes up.

Few days ago I have the same problem.

It is not possibile to make TSC in slave mode.

I tried that with Logic 5.5.1 and Samplitude 10.02.

My test:

Run Ableton as master make TSC and save.

Open master host and then Ableton saved test project.

Now you see that TSC in Ableton disapear.

Also I hope that I dont understand that compleatly and hope that

somebody with more experience will enlighting us about that problem.

hi ludovin,

the metronome and the transport time signature editor should both always match the time signature given by the host. If this is not the case it is most likely that you found a bug. I will try to reproduce and look into that. Which time signature did you set in DP and what did the transport in Live then show?

when Live runs as ReWire slave the TSC feature is disabled, since the time signature is always given by the host application. Live then adopts the currently active time signature value from the master and applies this to the whole arrangement. It is not possible to communicate a series of TSC that was created in the master application over the ReWire protocol to Live.

However, if you open a Live set which contains TCS while running as ReWire slave, these will NOT be deleted silently (also not if you save the document), only the editing features are hidden. So if you open the same document again while not running as ReWire slave, the TSC should appear again.

I run DP an have Bars 1-9 in 4/4 and bar 10 is in 3/4 then back to 4/4 in bar 11.

In ableton everything works fine until bar 10, then the transporter changes to bar number 13 and stills does 4 beats. Then it goes back to bar 11 with the transporter in ableton running 1 beat before the transporter in DP..

So the transporter in DP shows 11.1.
While the transporter in ableton shows 11.2

Tried TSC with Samplitude as master and Ableton follows tempo change

and TSC correctly.I can see and hear that in Ableton.

But transporter show wrong info-allways behind master app.

I'm having similar problems - the time signatures do change appropriately in slave mode (as do tempo changes), but whenever the change occurs, Live adjusts the entire measure scheme to the current the time signature.
For example, I'm running in 12/8 for a while. When I switch to 5/8 around bar 30, Live jumps up to bar 70 or something crazy like that (I presume that is because, at that moment, it positions the entire song as being in 5/8, meaning that the number of beats completed thus far would render the current measure much further ahead). Then when I switch back to 12/8 a few bars later, Live is now back in the 30s, measure-wise.
This wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, I suppose, but it makes working with Live's arrangement view nearly impossible. Any way to slave not only TSC but also the measure to the master app?

Golly jeepers.
I'm arranging in Logic 8 and have Live rewired. Just read through the manual and they make it clear of the limitation of no TSC in rewire. I get the impression that Live is supposed to update from the host app, but I'm not getting that from my DAW.
My arrangement has bars of 2/4 time sprinked here and there and my Live portion of the arrangement comes in on beat 3 instead of beat 1 via the Beat Time Ruler.
This is giong to get very harry...

But I'm gonna be man... I'm gonna suck it up... Not gonna let them see me cry....
