Euphonix MC MIX / LIVE 7.02 Hands-On

 Trying to connect a Euphonix MC MIX http://www.euphonix.com/artist/products ... upport.php to Live 7.02.

I can get it to connected to Live on Eucon midi channel 5, but it only works with the first 8 tracks of the project. Does anyone know the correct way to configure these two successfully?

I can't really get the euphonix to work in mackie control mode with my FF400 TotalMix either, so for all I know the Euphonix's implementation of MC emulation might be buggy. If anyone has this combo working, care to share thoughts?

(I have yet to get it working with Logic 8.02 either...)

Don't be jealous yet..... So far it's a weak replacement for the MCU I just sold to help pay for it. Buggy as hell.

I thought it did not support Live yet.

+1

have you tried selecting MackieControl in preferences?

My understanding was that they had implemented this control system as well. What's up with not Logic support, I thought that was the deal.

How is it? how does it feel/look? worth the money (assuming that you can get it to work) I'm very tempted but going to see one at the UK launch of the MC Control next week. I think I could live with out it working in Live as long as it was flawless in Logic.

Let us know.

Faders feel good - but it's so buggy as to be unusable for any real work. Live is not technically supported by the MC MIX, but it does have Mackie emulation, which seems to be either poorly implemented, or broken. (Someone please prove me wrong)

this will not help very much, but euphonix says that the mc mix supports Ableton Live on their website, and they say it also in their advertisements in
the German Sound & Recording Magazine, so at least you should have some arguments for the support team to help you.

So after several emails back and forth with Euphonix customer support (who are AWESOME, by the way) I got it to work with Logic, but the reason it doesn't work properly with Ableton live is because they have not fully implemented Mackie Control Emulation. Basically this means that unless you have Logic, the Euphonix MC Mix a is pretty weak replacement for a Mackie MCU. (Euphonix assured me that full MC emulation is forthcoming, but I still think it's misleading for them say they "support mackie control protocols" on their website until FULL emulation support is implemented.

Oh - Tarekith - You can be jealous now. (of my logic setup.) I'm blown away by how fast my workflow is on the MC Mix..... Once Ableton offers full EuCon support, every Live owner will want one of these....

Got one yesterday took it out of the box, downloaded the latest drivers and boom it worked first time with Logic 8 and Live 6.

Looks good feels very good, now to enhance my work flow.

I just saw and played with one today at Guitar Center and I must say it is so damn sexy. The sides feel kinda cheap and plasticky, but the faders and the LCD response and animations are so clean and fast and smooth!

Anyone hear of any updates for use with Live ?

Been considering selling my MC Mix soon since

"because they have not fully implemented Mackie Control Emulation. Basically this means that unless you have Logic, the Euphonix MC Mix a is pretty weak replacement for a Mackie MCU. (Euphonix assured me that full MC emulation is forthcoming, but I still think it's misleading for them say they "support mackie control protocols" on their website until FULL emulation support is implemented."

this still seems in effect.
Motorized faders + all that is nice but not getting full functionality.

Also kinda drag that uses Ethernet connection.

I love the fact that it uses Ethernet, it frees up another port.
