MPD24 lag/latency

I'm using Ableton Live 6.0.10 with a number of usb controllers (Akai MPD24, Korg Pad Control, Evolution UC-33) and am having some lag problems, specifically with the MPD24, which has a small amount of latency when triggering clips and can easily be seen when assigning a fader to one of Live's volume faders (it is really slow to move both visually and also with the audio output). I don't think it's my system/comp (Mac Book Pro, 2ghz duel intel) as the UC-33 and Pad Control are quick to respond with Live. However, the MPD24 seems fine when connected to Battery 3 on a PC.

Just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems with the MPD24 or other usb controllers when using them with Live? Any solutions?

Another issue that I'm having is with the Pad Control, it's too sensitive and will trigger pads when the unit is bumped. Any solutions for this?

cheers,

peet

I'm having the same latency problem, but I'm assuming it's because I have a cheap internal soundcard. I'm buying a firewire audio controller soon, and if that fixes the problem for me I'll let you know.

generally speaking latency is related to the audio buffer size (smaller = lower latency)... however, it sounds like the problem stems from the akai driver or live 6 <???> i think live 7 recently had support added for akai mpd 24 / 32, but not sure how live 6 stands.

if the pads are too sensitive, you should try using the akai mpd software to change the sensitivity.
