Compatibility with TASCAM FW-1082

I've just bought a Tascam FW-1082 as an upgrade from an Echo Audiofire 2 interface. It says that it is compatible with Live. I've loaded the software but when I try to plug it into Live, Live doesn't automatically recognize it like Audiofire 2.
Does anyone else use the FW-1082 with Ableton? Has anybody had trouble with Live and specific interfaces?
