I used one extensively on tour, for a year. It has never let me down. Super interface.

I have two, running xp and vista, works fine on either.

It did take a bit of fiddling to get it set up, needed to download most recent drivers from the Motu site and upgrade firmware. But after that just fine.

Probably the best bang for the buck in terms of stability and sound quality, I doubt you'll find many people that don't like theirs.

make sure you read the manual when you get it tho.

it's kind of confusing at first, but thats because you can do so much with it. no other interface can compare in terms of cost/size/features.

i love mine muchly.

I fancy the Motu Ultralite 828 mk2 for my studio..Its a little cheaper and would be handy to rack.

Whats the best between this and teh ultralite, apart from the ultralite being handy for gigging with

If people are doing comparisons of MOTU gear, throw in the Traveler. While I haven't got one at present, that's what I'm currently focusing on buying next. I had a look at the Ultralite, the 828mkII (now at mkIII) and the Traveler, and despite the price, I thought the Traveler was the best option. It's not an issue for everyone, but I felt the 4 XLR inputs on the Traveler allowed more scope for general purpose recording than the 2 XLRs on the 828/Ultralite.

Of course, this was just research for satisfying my own personal requirements. Just thought I'd confuse things more ;-)
