one key, two assignments, and other mapping wants

i'm sure there was a time when you could map a single midi note to more that one command. is it not possible anymore?
secondly, i want to setup button control of faders. i.e. one key sets a fader at -20db, another sets it at -17db, another at -10db and so on. however, it seems like only one key and value can be assigned to each fader. anyone know a way round this?
