I have recently been getting into Richard Devines albums after a friend recommended them to me. Lots of interestings sounds in there. I am quite keen to hear other like minded artists.

Any recommendation for artists who produce a similar type of music?

Autechre, Phoenecia, Lexaunculpt, Delarosa & Asora (Prefise73's more IDMish release), Funkstorung (Older, like Add'l Productions or Appetite for DISCtruction)...off he top of my head.

check out Autechre, Bola, Arovane and Aphex twin.

and there is still last.fm, which you can browse for similar artists - very great site btw.

Cheers for the recommendations. I already have a lot of Autechre stuff, but I will check out some those other artists tonight

or even better: alva noto + Ryuichi sakamoto (of Y.M.O.)

Richard's giving a lecture at the SPARK festival tomorrow, as well as doing a set at a local club later that night.

I've exchanged emails with him before, but I've never met him. It'll be fun doing so tomorrow :)

Those into Alva Noto will definitely like the 'Robotron' album by Signal, released last year on raster-noton. A must have.

I go to the U of M, he's giving like 3 performances this week.

Yeah, I know- tomorrow's was the only one I could fit into my schedule.
