Copy of own samples now found in Library

I could be going potty but I am sure it didn't used to do this in previous Lives. If I take an audio sample from somewhere on my harddrive and drop it into Sampler I can now play that sample in Sampler. This is fine.

Now if I save the Sampler preset into my Live Library I can now recall this sound in any sets. Great.

But all of a sudden Live seems to be copying the original sample file into the imported folder of the Library. And then the preset I have stored calls upon this sample file when its loaded. Previously, I am sure that it would not do this and simply have the preset call upon the sample from its original location on my drive.

Now I seem to be creating doubles of any new Sampler preset I make.

Am I mad or is this a new feature?

Hi Synthbuilder,

New feature,

go to "Preferences" > "File/Folder" and choose at the bottom of the window under "collect samples on export" your preferred behaviour.

cheers p.e.

Thanks PE, that was it. Not used that feature before and it seems that it is 'on' by default.

Its also confusing that they called it "collect samples on export" when in actual fact I am importing the files into Live.

Again, thanks for the help.
