syncing 2 macbooks > tempo jumps

hello,

i' m syncing 2 macbooks (master on OS X 10.4.11, slave on leopard 10.5.2 ) via midi network, both machines running Live 7.0.2, sync-type is "Midi Clock". that worked fine, but since i'm using a new VST-Plugin ("molar", a controller for the hardware "monome"), i noticed, that the tempo on the slave-notebook jumps up and down after hitting start on the master-machine. e.g. tempo 120 on the master, then hit start: after two clicks, tempo on slaves goes up to 121, then after 2 more clicks it goes to the 120.

is this a normal behaviour of Midi-Clock? does it take four clicks to settle on the right tempo? my guess was, that the right tempo should be set immediately. normally, i would not recognize this slight tempo changes, but since my new plugin scramles audio on every tempo change, it's really bad.

i tried to connect the notebooks via MIDI-cable, but that did not make a difference.

anyone has a hint how to sync two macbooks perfectly from the beginning?
