A kid on Christmas Eve

A kid on Christmas Eve...is how this 30-something feels. I haven't been this excited about software in....well ever. I think it really says something about the imagination and skill of Ableton. The Internet buzz on 4.0 is real and they are going to hit a home run in the music world if they deliver the features listed on the front page of this website.

Now, the only question is what time are they dropping the A-bomb?

:D

the excitement is because of the vsti support?., if its is i can´t understant..., i love Live , love to much , since when i get to it, it was ableton live 1,
but working whit vst´s is better if u use bidule, you can do great stuff whit it, almost anything, rewires to Live, the only problem is that is not yet a very, very, very stable aplication..., i would be really excited if the announce was , a new bidule , stable as i can be possible, ....

have you looked at the announcement about Live 4 in full--the midi recording, midi effects, totally new routing scheme, simpler--its a hell of a lot more than vstis. Do you perform live--probably not. Otherwise, there's no way you wouldn't be as pschyed as us--you yourself admit Bidule is not that stable--I certainly wouldn't gig with it. Its midi recording and editing are limited, etc. I hope Bidule keeps on coming and brings a new version, but its no Live. For those of us that use live Live, 4 is the biggest thing yet.

yeah i perform live and the all software thing as how i feel it is not to play live or not, in software what i look is for intuitive things, that can make a diference , i keep loving ableton, but i think if they have made a revolution , they maded some years ago . a bidule whitout any problem would be my dream.

yeah, my thoughts exactly. but the VSTi's are reason enough alone. i want pro tools and live rewired and that's all i need.

an ETA would be nice though so people could decide if staying in tonight to compulsively hit the fresh button every 10 minutes is worth it.

it's like waiting for the great Oz to appear.

Live 4 is really music software of the 21st century..
All the others seem dated..
Live 4 is my dream..
I may have marriage problems soon though..Hope She will understand.

Let's continue this as "The Waiting" thread.

So, the first time I remember waiting for something spectacular was Star Wars in Dallas when I was really, really young.

The PS2 launch was pretty exciting as well - I stood in line for several hours and finally let this Mom and her "mentally challenged" son take the last ticket. It took me 3 more months to get a PS2 so I look back wondering if it was worth it. Then again that kid probably thinks the PS2 is new everytime he goes into the den....so I think that was the right thing to do.

This on the other hand. Where is the queue? :) None of you hippies are getting in front of me in this line.

It is like waiting for the show to start, but you wonder if anyone is going to open the screen..I'm just wondering if anyone is going to step out of the office doors and give us some news tonight..?
