Oxygen 8 (first version) instant mapping. Is it possible?

Hi.
I'm attempting to get instant mapping work with a midiman oxygen8 (first version, not the ver.2).
By instant mapping, i mean focusing a device and getting the parameters automatically mapped to the eight knobs.
I tried to select the oxygen8 as control surface in the MIDI/Sync options. Instant mapping does not work, though i can assign midi CC manually.
I've writed down a custom remote control script and loaded it up, and again i can assign midi cc but no instant mapping.
Do you know if it is actually possible to use such a feature on this controller?
