Any way to do this ?
having trouble beatmapping. Whenever I add markers or move anything around it wants to change the tempo, stretch my audio etc. Arg..
Thanks

theres gotta be a way to set the grid size to line up to the audio. (for remixes etc) If there isnt that would really suck... and if the only way would be to tap out markers I'll have to move back to acid and the beatmapper

figured it out

1. Use Mixmeister BPM Analyzer to figure out tracks tempo.
2. In an empty project, set main tempo to this bpm.
3. Load track in sequencer with Warpmode autoload on.
4. Manually adjust the blue Downbeat anchor to make markers line up properly.
First day usin the software so bare w/ me !! (just trying to learn it as fast as possible is why I ask so many questions) lol.

I don't get what you're trying to do.
You only need to add warp markers if there is a problem to fix.
If the beat is even enough that things pretty much line up, then all you need is the marker at 1.1.1
All the "divisions" elsewhere are taken care of automatically by the warp settings (transients etc)

Go have a long sit down and read the manual cover to cover, then keep it handy. There is no substitute.

baraka - read this guide to warping
http://vinkalmann.com/index.php?option= ... 6&Itemid=2
it's not hard it's just a new concept to wrap your head around. and do not use complex mode, rtfm on the modes, pick one and set it as the default in the preferences.
thanks

thanks guys. I read most of the manual.. the warp part mainly cause everything else is pretty simple already.. warp is hard to get my head around still... I can stretch audio no problem in seconds to my project.
The problem is figuring out how warp can stretch my grid without touching my audio.
When mapping a new track in seems to be straight forward (using my technique)
when loading multiple wavs from another multitrack project from another daw. It puts the markers in the wrong places and changing them around messes up my wav file also reads each track as diff bpm. thats all. Doing tracks start to finish is easy but importing and getting the grid the same is a shitshow nitemare thats all.

warp markers arent for being a visual aid/cue
if u wanna use the grid on the waveform as a visual cue, in the clip properties click the "show/hide sample box" button (small circle with squiggly line down the bottom) and then you can use ctrl + 1 / ctrl + 2 to adjust the grid resolution.

ya i dont want to increase resolution. I want to make 16 bars be 16 bars of audio as it was in acid before export.
where say 8 bars ends...is like 1.5 loops in my song and I want it to be at the end of 1 loop in my song... without changing the audio.... I'll figure it out, eventually.

if it's honest to god a perfect 16 bar rendering, then if you match tempo with what you exported at, you can turn warp off
otherwise, just look at the clip view, and set two markers only
1.1.1 and 17.1.1

thanks for all the help. the renders are actually a few min long I just gave 16bars as example.
Anyways I just re-rendered a track from acid embedding markers into the metadata of the wavs and ableton throws it down flawless.. grid being exact same as it was in acid. sweet.
thanks again. I really arent retarded even tho this thread might make it appear so. lol
