BCR2000 and mackie mode preset video.
Hey all,
Many wonder why you would want to use this instead of the just mapping it yourself.
1. You just load the two presets into bcr2000, following directions and you are done. If you don't like it, you have not wasted much time remapping Live!
2. If you move or delete a track, this keeps on working/ your controls still make sene, no hair pulling cursing because you have to remap stuff.
3. 2 Foot switches that I have mapped to clip play/rec(if armed) and undo, for hands free recording!
4. Jumpless faders for countless numbers of tracks 1-8, 9-16, etc... with the Bank > and bank < buttons.
5. Jumpless vpots for countless numbers of pans, sends, device controls...
6. Mutes/solo/arm/vselects
7. The JOG WHEEL.
8. zoom scrub, clip play, scene play...
I made a YouTube video of the bcr2000 in action with Live.
I see one spelling error in it already, sorry, it is my first vid.
Also the quality is not so good, however, it does demonstrate the BCR2000 with Ableton Live using the mackie presets. Yes, the music sucks with it, i just thru 16 random clips from the live library in there...
Go take a look then get to work!
* Also - I made the video with a different version than the one in the archive, sorry. The only change is that i moved the vpots down to the second row of knobs and the faders down to the third row. I think that is the only difference... Ah ... well this is just to get your feet wet anyway.

Here is my page with my slightly edited presets and manual.

i've managed to make it works and modified some of the control's parameters, but when i turn off and on the bcr2000 it loses the preset i've sended to it.
i followed the instructions in the pdf manual (send the mce .syx, store02.syc, ableton.syx and store3.syx)
ps. i used bcfredit for sending the data to the bcr2000

That is a great link for bcr files, including sysex loader.
Which should emliminate the need to send the store.syx file.
I have not tried it yet.
Also there is the BCMan100.zip, which looks like a great editor for the bcr/bcf.

Very cool indeed - thanks for this, I had it working after some playing around with my BCR2000! One quick question/suggestion - is there any way to have the buttons switch lights when you select a channel? For example, when I have channel 1 highlight, the first button is lit up, when I press channel 2's button, channel 1's button remains on along with channel 2's button (so it's an extra push to ensure everything is in order for visual feedback)!
Or, maybe I could have a stab at doing it, just don't know where to start. I also saw an interesting approach from rbmonosylabik on another thread:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 383#664383
seems he has updated his template - sounds pretty damn kool (quote "Now it has a MIDI track routed to the BCR with clips where I automate the CCs mapped to the 16 buttons. What they do is turn on the LEDs in the BCR, showing which buttons have clips assigned to them. I just launch the corresponding visual feedback clip along with the track with the same button.")
A mix of both would be genius! I gotta start learning how to do this myself, anyone know of any good tutorials or places to get started??
Thanks again.

Revised - mackie preset for bcr2000...
![Image](http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/9361/mculivever4do5.th.gif)
Scaled back to 1 preset (with more functions than the 2 presets from before.)
Added functions by using knobs as buttons -via sysex. (thanks to Royce's documentation and Mark's editor )
Think of them as rotary switches. That do 1 thing when turned clockwise and a different thing when turned counter clockwise. bank <+>
cursor < + >, and up down.
View clip-fx/bottom, browser/arrange-session
previous marker, next marker.
So the bottom row from the image has 6 rotary switches.
Moved faders to top row, Bar leds indicating levels.
Resolution changed, if you turn knob slow = slow increments, fast = large value changes. In fact, can go whole range with quick twist.
Vpots moved to 3rd row from bottom. Similar resolution adjustments. Quick twist = whole range, slow = small changes in value.
Ok - it is ready.
Get it here - http://shoshin.110mb.com/genmce/bcr2000/index.htm
Now are there any other functions (mackie functions) that this needs?
Since there are still 6 or 8 user assignable knobs that could be rotary switches...
Any thoughts out there? Hmmm...
I suppose one of those knobs could be undo/redo?
undo to the left and redo to the right?
