Do the 4x4 pads on the Kontrol 49 map to drum rack the same way the Padkontrol does; ie whatever pads are visible in the drum rack can be played on the drum pads?

Ive spend all day trying to map the pads on the kontrol 49,no luck though..I can map a couple of them but they just seem to map to random clips in the drum rack

and also when i move the drum rack up are down the clip that i have mapped doesnt move with it...

I've got the microkontrol working fine, make sure you get the in AND out ports set correctly both in the mackie control settings and down below.
I've got the automap control part set to in : port 2, out : port 3
Port 2 and three are both enabled for input but not output down below as well.
Hope that's not too confusing.

thats too bad. i guess my same question applies to the microkontrol as well, and does it run well in native mode with Live? ie; do the little screens display whatever parameter you're editing?

no, look for an app called LCXMU (Mac only) to do that via Mackie emulation.

I have actually yet to come across someone on here that has mapped their 16 pads on their knotrol 49 with the drum rack...without any problems..I think they ve made it very complicated to map the drum rack...I originally thought that it would be mapped like everything else..oh how i wish

why on earth would it be any different than the microkontrol? they're 95% identical.

The automatically mapping Drum Racks (for MicroKontrol and Kontrol49) work only on the NEWEST release of Live (7.02). So if you haven't already downloaded that, that should be your first step!

so you guys have kontrol 49 setup perfectly then ?,
you must be blessed,
we have 7.02, we read that it accomodates Kontrol 49,
we get most out of it, but it doesn't move with the pads, does yours then ?
