detroit of course.

I would prob say chicago or new york after.

the ideal city for me is Miami. you do find some techno down there..in fact a whole lot more now, but most of it is house, progressive, trance, club music. but nightlife is absolutely great down there.

L.A. So many club nights and events for Techno its crazy. I can only thank Droid and Compression so many times for bringing the noise.

San Francisco has the best scene in the US, its the new Detroit, duh. Miami is bullshit year round except for the wmc. People don't dance in NY and Chicago is still living off past accolades....and LA is a short flight away....

There's no such thing as a short flight any more. Air travel has become the club that's so crowded that no one goes there.

I grew up in Detroit. It was best city in the world for techno, but there isn't alot going there anymore. Right now the best cities (in the US) are most likely New York and then San Francisco. But Detroit will always rule.

I wish - My friends and I are boycotting Rich's for being held at the door for over an hour, even with VIP access because of an unfavorable male/female ratio.

No other "straight" techno spots here to speak of. Not hating, just gay clubs are not my scene. And forget about trying to come with an original set or even a mashup, if you don't spin or CD, you aren't shit.

Havent been to Rich's, but it seems to be more of a meat market than a place for music.
I've lived all over and IMHO the best clubs, with the best underground music, (and party favors) usually tend to have gay ownerships. They are usually more relaxed venues with more down to earth people. The best spots I found were in the Montrose, Richmond and Westheimer areas. Yes they might have some people of other sexual preferences, but it's not like you had to partake in their lifestyle. It's all about the music and having a good time.
