v6 and v7 concurrently

hi all
have v6, wanna up upgrade to v7. is it poss to get them running concurrently on a single machine?
i doubt it is... apologies in advance if this is like common knowledge, not an easy topic to search for.

...depend on what soundcard/s your running (may need multiclient drivers, or more than one card), but you could run two (or more versions) of 7 at the same time if you wanted. theres an option in preferences that'll let more than one instance run at the same time.

I think you can run 2 or more instances of the same version at a time, that means you can't run V6 and V7 in the same machine at the same time, will be a mess for the system.

i've done it....
one time i had a show where I was too lazy to make a live set with the songs i wanted to play in it, so i just loaded up tracks in 6 or 7 alternating (this was right around when 7 came out so i didn't really have to worry about opening a 7 track in 6)
and just tabbed between.
worked well.

It should work fine as long as you make sure not to upgrade your L6 library (which you really shouldn't do anyways), and have the L7 library in a different location.
