I know there was an inconclusive thread about this a while ago, but are there any realtime pitch bend plugins that can emulate variable tape speed or something like that? for ub...

if any mac users are looking for one, I just realized one comes in the apple plugins and works like a charm. though I would share. I just turned rendering to minimum, mapped it to a knob and it is awesome.

it's in the plugins in ableton for macs? what's it called?

i just tried my own trick by mapping the pitch bend wheel to the pitch in operator and the global time. i think it came out alright. really good for doing drastic things but a little harder to get a subtle warble because the pitch changes by a half step in operator.

you can check it out here:

apple's AUpitch is the best i've found for situations where normal pitch bend won't work.

turntablist (available from destroyfx iirc) has some nice features, but has to have the audio loaded into the effect itself.

i've also had good luck warping all tracks with repitch mode and nudging the project tempo up and down. this only works in limited scenarios, but sounds the most warped-tape-like.

a final trick: simple delay set to repitch mode (via context menu selection), select "link", 100% wet, 0% feedback, select "time". the ms setting will now do a little tweak to the pitch as you push it back and forth.

Very cool... I haven't even looked to use the Apple plugins yet. 8O
