Can you set up pads chromatically and still have it map automatically to the drum rack? Or does the drum rack need the padkontrol to be assigned to certain notes?

you just need to open the padkontrol editor librarian and load up the chromatic scale scene and send it to your padkontrol

To map to a drum rack automatically the padKontrol needs to be using the default scene 1.

It should be possible to write your own User Remote Script for a chromatic scene and have that map to the drum rack instead if you need chromatics.

Alternatively you could use the midi effects to translate default scene 1 to a chromatic scale and put that in front of anything that expects chromatic input.
