Cutting Loops. . . & More. Newbie. . .

Hi.
Im reading Ableton Live manual and its very confusing. I dont really feel im learning much from it.
My first issue is that if i have loops where the downbeat doesnt start on the first beat of the first bar then all of the other loops where the downbeat does start on beat 1, bar 1 then the loops would be out of sync. Is there a solution to this?
Also. If i have rex loops that finish after the last snare for example, and the length isnt a full loop then after 1 loop, it gets very out of sync. The only way i kow how to sort this out is to add audio to end of the loop and thats trial and error and time consuming. Or. . . to rex it and play it back in via midi.
Ive tried using rex files but it doesnt seem to let me quantise them. Rex file are brilliant but sometimes you need a little bit more timing accuracy, so quantising it to a swing is needed to get lots and lots of loops in perfect sync.
I dont know why its not possible to specify the amount of swing you want on particular clips as opposed to the global swing. I might want more swing on some clips than others. Also, i might want some clips to play slightly behind or infront of the beat. For example, i might want to make the hi-hats sound lazy by putting them back slightly.
I work all in the session view as Im trying to figure this all out so i can add loops fro my library and also record in loops of me beatboxing and have control over them. For instance say i beatbox a loop but its not perfect in time, i want live to warp it a bit to make it more in sync with the tempo.
I know ive written a lot of thigs here but i really want to get to know live as well as i know Apples Logic. I do all my production in Logic and want to perform all of my stuff in live but i need to have total control over all my loops. . . their timing, their lengths, how to get them to loop live without me having to drag the loop brace round them (is this possible?)
