noise glitch upon disarming midi track

Here is a problem. In session view, I have several MIDI tracks lined up. I record a MIDI clip into one of them. I disarm the track, clicking the reddened arm/disarm button at the bottom of the track. When I do this there is an audio pop, and it even seems that the level changes for the track. This happens on all the MIDI tracks when I disarm them while a clip is playing in them.
This is bad. Is this familiar to anyone, and is there a way to fix it?
Thanks.

Have you had any luck fixing this issue? I have had this for years and Ableton continually blows me off as if I am the only one having it. Very displeased with them.

hi. sorry to take so long to reply.
yes, i did eventually get past this problem. unfortunately, i don't remember what the ultimate solution was; it's been a long time. what i can say is that this is not a "bug". it is just a matter of changing settings until it goes away. of course, you should make sure you have the latest drivers and updates to the programs, including Live.
if you continue to be stuck with this, then post again and explain your setup: OS, version of Live, outboard gear . . . everything. Then I'll attempt to think it through with you.
best,
Jonathan

Thank you for the reply. I continue to have the issue but fortunately this issue forced me to try many workarounds. I eventually found one that is much more efficient and effective for what I need so it really turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Thanks again for your time.

What did you end up doing?
I've seen this problem occur for small buffer sizes. The solution always seemed to be "increase the buffer size" but of course that adds latency which is annoying at best.
I don't know if there's something about how disarming a track is implemented in Live that causes the audio processing to get out-prioritized or what, but it was annoying. I had a similar problem in other parts of the interface too (expanding track groups, or renaming clips, for example).

Hey, sorry I haven't been here in a while. My workaround consisted of having audio tracks in ableton that were set to "Off" in the monitor section. Because my interface has a built in mixer, I was able to route the incoming signal from my instruments directly out to the P.A. and I had the tracks in ableton (that were set to off) monitoring that same audio that was passing through. The idea being that I can record clips into the grid that only play sound after I am done recording them. With the monitoring off, there is no glitch sound while arming.
