Right, excuse my nubeness. I have scoured these forums and thus far been able to answer most questions that I have had with the fantastic content that is on here, however I am frustrated at what must be a really simple problem (it's easy when you know how huh!).

I am using Live 6 to drag myself away from CDJ's and Technics, and it's won me over. I have purchased a load of material that I want to make a set with and I have spend some time making one. The problem I am having is with recording. I have tried twice times and gotten a different result each time.

First time I used, lets say, the first 5 slots in the session view for my first 5 records. I armed all the tracks in the arrangemnet view (using ctrl+clicking on ythe session arm button for recoding. I did my set, and when I ripped it to lusten to, only the first 2 tracks had recorded? (these being Audio slots 1 & 2 in session view). SO.....

I then thought, right, like a normal DJ, with 2 decks, I'll use Audio tracks 1 & 2 only. I set it all up, switched to Arrangement view, armed track 1 & 2, flicked back to the session view, clicked the global record button and set my first track off of what was to be a great (even if I do says so myself) 60 or so minute set. Imaging my surprise when I ripped it, that only trakcs 1,3,5,7 etc had recorded (only channel 1 basically).

So what IS the correct way to record a set, and am I just being a dumb newb (sorry if it's the later).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys and gals.

Brett

howdy!

first off, it's n00b.

second, click the global record button, and play your set. the global record button (a circle) is located in the transport at the top of the screen, next to the square. when you are in session view, pressing this, and triggering a clip will record everything you trigger in session, into it's corresponding track, in arrange view. you don't need any track, unless it is a physical input, in record mode, in either view.

Is it really as simple as that? Holy moly.

Thanks man, I'll give it a try.

Try hitting tab once you've started recording. It will switch from session to arrange view, and you can see what is being/has been recorded. Hit tab again to go back to session and keep playing...
