Please Add Multitake option, copy the protools one (multi layer take), it's the best and very useful, and you can cut copy the multitake block like one track but is multilayer.
Thanks

is it the comping which is the issue?
I have sometimes been frustrated with recording multiple passes, but I think it was before I understood what was happening.
It looks at a glance like it keeps overwriting the pass, but the take is all there underneath, and you can shift between passes by selecting the clip view brace and +/-
but +1 for some improvements here anyway. maybe the takes could unfold like the new automation multi-lanes do...

of course you have to make sure the OVER DUB BUTTON IS TURNED OFF.
that could be peoples problem with how multiple takes work in live. i actually like it better in live than in pro tools.

Just to give you a pointer, this has been implemented in Vitamin L as a single key shortcut (next take/previous take). See

Take a look here

'Effortless multitake recording' this way is really useful

I agree with thecourier. I'd love to see something like in Logic, it seems so handy for ie. vocal stuff, but any other stuff too.

Yes this is an absolute must for any DAW, and essential for speedy, confident working in a composition tool.
PLEASE implement!

YES!!!
I would like to see Ableton handles 'multiple takes' and 'loop recording' simmilar to Reaper.
1. Every loop to be as a new file either on the hard drive or just as a audio clip or slice (arrangemetn view).
2. Choose how to be viewed all the recorded takes: either one above/below another, one after another or the last on top of the previous (on top)
3. Crossfades now are not so intuitive. They just have to be clip based (and stay into the clip!), not so envelope based as they are now
This is a missing feature that keeps me away from buying ableton for last 6 years.
