Split screen like Excel

In session view I have each scene set up with a song along with samples and beats I play with the song. If I could split the screen horizontally, I would have my list of scenes on top and an area of empty scenes at the bottom where I could build play lists on the fly by cutting and pasting. A little bit like party shuffle in iTunes.
