some thing like it as in NOT consolidate..
scissors, knife, sword, a torch, get the idea?

try selecting on the timeline where you want to cut, and press ctrl + e
does that do what you want?

I still want a razor tool, when you're doing lots of cuts in a row (like slicing up a drum break, comping things, etc), selecting and CMD+E is a slow way of doing things.
