Ableton Live 7 -- momentary mute and control ballistics

Here's what I want to accomplish. I'd like to map the "mute" button for a track to my midi keyboard. This is straightforward enough, but I'd like the track to be muted while I hold the key down, and unmuted when I let the key up. Right now I have to hit a key twice to mute/unmute a track. Perhaps I could do this with the track's volume control? I can set min/max midi controller numbers (0-127) and do ducking this way, but again I'd like the volume control to return to "normal" after I let off a key.

Generally speaking, it would be cool if I had control over control ballistics. I.e. I could assign a velocity curve to a volume control (or anything else for that matter) so that when it was triggered I could control how fast/slow the control moved. Linking it to the velocity on the keyboard would be really nice.

I've only played for a couple of hours with the Live 7 demo, so perhaps this is all old hat. Anyways, does anyone if/how you can do this stuff? Thanks!

i have had pretty good results running bidule alongside ableton, using bidule as a midi-processor.
i rarely do this in practice, though.
