Ableton Forum

Hello, here is my issue.
I have a novation xiosynth and I want to be able to programme the midi into ableton and the noise to come out of the xiosynth (or any synth for that matter) I've struggled to get this to work and I don't really know how to do it. Can someone explain to me (in simple, laymans terms) how to do this please?

do you want to open a midi track, draw in some notes, and it play the built in patchs that are on the xiosynth?

Yes, and I know how to do it with the xiosynth now (novation tech support helped)
I presume it's a similar procedure with all synths with midi capabilities?

yeah novation tech support are very good.
any hardware can take midi from ableton, as long as your interface has an midi out, and the hardware has a midi in,
on the midi track in ableton, just tell it to send the midi to what ever you want.
