Problem loading projects when Live is already open...?

My projects don't seem to load (or take ages) when I try opening a project with Live already open. Yet when I open the Project by clicking on it when Live hasn't been launched yet it opens the project fine.

Any ideas?

I'm running a MacBook Pro with Leopard OSX.

Thanks to anyone with helpful advice.

more patience?

it is what it is, IMO. just be glad it's not crashing. ;)

how much RAM do you have? 2Gb is a huge improvement over 1 Gb for me.

Well the project I just tried opening at 17:38HRS CMT is still trying to open right now at 17:49 and it says buffering samples in the bottom left and the status bar next to it is on 0%. Yeah I'm impatient, but this is ridiculous.

same problem here on a macbook 2Gb ram, 55Gb hd free. Only happens when switching from a project to another.

yup, same problem with my macbook 2ghz 1 gig ram. I've found that although it says "buffering samples" and doesn't seem to be loading, it actually is loaded and you just need to hide Live (apple>H) and then pull it back up and everything is right there. weird.

I've done that before but on the night I posted this problem nothing seemed to get it working.

Hi SubLixx,

please try if resetting Live´s cache fixes the problem.
Delete the content of this folder:

user/library/caches/ableton/index

If the problem still remains, please contact [email protected], it would be helpful if you included the log.txt file from Live´s preferences folder:

user/library/preferences/ableton/live (your version of Live)

Best,

Jörg

it is not related to ram,

i have 4gb, although my mbp 2.16 only recognizes 3 gb
and the same happens to me,
i am on live 6.0.10 though

the same buffering samples message as described
bfr i used to click on the clip/fx (bottom right) section andafter a while it would go ok

the last surprise was when i got a mackie control,
while the buffering samples goes on and on,
the faders on the mackie go up, all the info shows up
i can even play the track and do whatever i want...

except seing the open project in live that is...

lollll

i will try the suggested fix, tx ;)
