Electronica, Dance, and Classical Music CD's

Post by swiffy » Fri Apr 18, 2008 2:58 pm

Hey Guys,

I was looking for some CD recommendations for electronica, dance, country, and classical music. I am bored with hip hop.... I really like dance. Please tell me the artist and CD title. Also, what makes the album so good to you. Thanks!

You can have the best of all worlds in one cd: Hybrid - Wider Angle. Classical music with progressive breaks. Eight years old and still one of my favorite albums.

Check out my album: The Way of The K, available on iTunes (search for KPA). It's a mixture of electronica and other electric styles (house, techno etc).

You can listen to samples of the tracks at my space site: http://www.myspace.com/thekpa or at http://www.cryptomnesian.com.

Nothing like self promotion.

for the electronic i would check www.beatport.com or www.masterbeat.com just browse around and find what you like. country, i dont listen to much but i do enjoy johnny cash(idk if he is country) or the hank williams. oew classical i love that shit. of course there is the major dudes like u kno bach, mozart, beethoven, i will usually go to the itunes radio and just put on one of the classical streams.

If you are looking for something a bit different, I recomend RICHARD SOUTHER's VISION: The Music of Hildegard von Bingen. A historical character interpreted via modern electronic-ish music.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hildegard_of_Bingen for a bit of background. Enjoy.

a few:

Clark - Turning Dragon [Warp]
Kills it for me atm. Complex, Hard, Beautiful with Aphex Twin influences.

Murcof - All of him [LeafLabel, Static Discos]
Beautiful modern Classical electronica. I'm a big Murcof fan........

Midaircondo - Shopping for images [Type Records]
Some very unique electronica/idm with exceptional female vocals by
3 swedish women.

Burial - Untrue [HyperDub]
no words necessary i think.....

Four Tet - Nearly all of him [mainly Domino USA]
exceptional artist in the wide idm experimental field.

Übertonmensch - Ultra [AtlierMusik]
Hard to find but an unbelievable mixture of classic and idm. 2 Guys from Berlin.
----> highly recommend their Betalounge.com Live recordings !!

Jackson & his Computerband - Smash [Warp]
Hyperactive samplemangling in an Unique and pretty damn funky way.
(Hyperactive samplemangling in general isn't my cup of tea, hehe)

enjoy good music !
