As a user of both, I feel your pain. I don't have the time, desire, or knowledge to tweak/troubleshoot/etc computers. I'd rather spend my time creatively.

Turn it on, it works. And if you must, it runs Windows programs.

I've built the last two computers that I have owned. I was planning on builing another, but deicided not to just because of that. I'm paying someone else to do it. I just don't want the headache.
I do feel your pain. I just got an Mbox 2 yesterday, and it took the better part of 8 hours to install it, update to 7.4, and get all of the software that I have that is suppose to run in RTAS format to work. I stll haven't installed the so-called "Ignition Pack".
That's what I miss most about hardware. Just turn it on and play.

you can automate all this process you know
it takes me 30 mins installing xp on my machine and it's all ready to go.
and I don't have to be in front of the machine once the partition are done

Come on, we all love this stuff. Why else would we bother with computers? Who in their right mind would spend so much time dinking around with them unless they really, really, really, really, really loved them?

It got me 30 minutes to install XP for the first time. Then I made an image and if I want to reinstall I just restore system partition from image - it takes 5 minutes

SO I don't feel Your pain

next time around you'll be done in 20 mins.
