Ableton Forum

So I have a live band in the vein of NIN. I have a bunch of lights that I would like to sync to our live show. We run our click and backup tracks from Ableton Live. I bought the ENTTEC USB/DMX interface and the DMXUSBPro external for MaxMSP.

I started looking at the help files and am pretty confused. It would seem like all I want to do is take MIDI cc values from clips in Ableton and translate the CC number to the corresponding DMX channel and the MIDI value to the correspoding DMX values. This seems like an easy task in my mind, but after looking at the documentation, I feel like I am supposed to be a MAXMSP programmer to do this.

Can someone please help me with this? Does anyone have any examples of how to translate this information. Once you write the patch, how do you use the damn thing......To reiterate, I want to take midi cc data and tranlsate it to DMX data with MAxMSP and the dmxusbpro...

I wish DMXIS would just hurry up and come out.

We're getting close - just a final round of bugfixing & quality control left. However, as DMXIS is a rather groundbreaking product, testing it properly across all hosts on OSX and Windows has proved to be quite time consuming. I promise it will be worth the wait
