It's not really my style of music so I can't comment on that but it certainly uses the sounds associated with the genre.
Production wise it is very good and the arrangement has good variation.

I like the production on it. And the instruments / sounds are great.

My only feedback would be to cut it down a bit or make it go a further musically to keep you more engaged.

I like the riff in the first half (0 - 2.33) but I think you should cut that down, and when those long chords come in at 2.33 (sounds great) I would get rid of the riff much sooner and get to 4.23 way sooner. The chords sound great on their own without that riff in my opinion.

Very good tips, thanks! This is pretty much the finished version of the song, but I really want to hear what people like about it, what they don't, and what they would change.

Interesting fun fact: this song was originally done as part of a "sample challenge," where you only had 8 samples to work with. You could process them in any way you want, but you couldn't add any additional sounds. There were 3 vocal samples (I only used 2 of them), a 303 bass sample, and 4 drum samples. All the "synth" sounds are really a tiny part of the 303 bass sample isolated in Simpler and then destroyed with various filters and effects. So if you really get down to it, there are only 7 actual samples used in this entire recording.

Yeah i would agree with the above comments. good start, was hoping for some more uh "catch and release" sort of build up and BOOM ya know for categorizing it into dirty electro even though genres are kinda silly anyway
