Advice needed on Time-warping Long tracks for a mix CD

Post by Will S » Tue Jun 29, 2004 6:13 pm

Hi there :) I've just got Live - for the purpose of doing a mix CD and it's taking me ages (1hour plus for 6 min tracks) to get all the time-warp clip points in the right place - am I just not getting the first bar really tight or is this common for long tracks? I get about 32 bars in and then the clip points start drifting very slightly. How can I overcome this? All advice hugely appreciated.

The first few tracks always take a huge amount of time to warp correctly, then it gets easier and faster...way faster.

You just have to keep doing it over and over as it is a skill like anything else!

Good luck!

so one trick is to play the track with no warp on and tap tempo to get the tempo of the track, then turn on warp. the first guess is then a little better with the markers.

also have your tracks editted so that they start on the 1 marker (no noise before that) also helps a little.
